Shop and Tell!

Hello Darlings!
This weekend I shopped until I dropped. As my dad would say, "Jenn, you spent money like a drunken sailor"...and I suppose he's right. I really try to save my money, but this weekend I found so many things that I couldn't live without. So here are some of the things I got! Yay for hauls!

First up, I got Nike Flex 2014 running shoes from DSW. This was a purchase I actually needed because I'm doing the Disneyland Neverland Run in May and I haven't been training yet because I didn't have shoes (good excuse, right?) I chose these because they were so light and comfy. I also really liked the color of these. So maybe, just maybe I'll start training for this run. No more excuses!

I also needed new combat boots because the ones I got from Cathy Jean a couple years ago are finally starting to fall apart...I don't know if I'm going to have the heart to throw them out :( Anyways...at Target it was buy one pair of shoes, get one 50% off...so of course I had to, right? I got a pair of black combat boots, and brown boots. I love that I can fold the brown ones down! So cute for Fall.

Also from Target, I got this cute skeleton garland for Halloween! I already put it up because it's never too early to decorate for Halloween ;)
Speaking of Halloween...I went to 2 Halloween stores this weekend and got some super cute stick on nails. I've actually never used stick on nails, so I'm hoping they turn out well. The skeleton ones are super cute, and I love the black matte ones because they look so sleek. I also got OPIs nail color How Great Is Your Dane because I loved how dark it is for Fall.

As I was walking through Ulta I came across a hair crimper! As a child growing up in the 90's, my hair crimper was my favorite hair tool. I thought I looked so cool with my crimped hair, and would always get compliments. Sadly, it broke and I never got a new one...UNTIL NOW! I was so excited to find it I'm pretty sure I squealed! Ok ladies and gents, lets bring back the crimped hair!

And last but not least, I was roaming through Old Navy and saw this girls sweater. One good thing about being short is that I can still fit into a Girls XL. I tried it on and fell in love. I didn't want to take it off! I love how the neck looks, and how it buttons across my chest. Cold weather, please hurry up so I can wear this beauty!

And that's it! Hope you enjoyed my shop and tell! Let me know what you guys have bought recently too! I would love to see! Hope you had a great weekend! xo Jenny Lynn

Reasons I'm Excited for October!

October is one of my favorite months. I feel like it's the month that really kicks off the end of the year. Halloween stores are everywhere, pumpkin spice everything is out, spooky movies are on TV, and of course the one day you get to dress up like a weirdo and get away with it is at the end of the month! I really try to not wish my life away, but here are a few things that I'm excited about this October.

  1. The Rocky Horror collection for MAC- I'm dying over this collection. It's one of my favorite movies, so obviously I'll have to splurge on these lipsticks, eye palette, lip pencils and more! I'll be doing the time warp until I get these beauties in my hands. The collection hits stores October 2!

2. Hockey season starts!- I know, I  know...most people aren't huge fans of hockey, but I love my San Jose Sharks! Going to games are SO much fun, especially when my Sharks win! And come on, who doesn't love watching a good fight break out on the ice ;) The season officially starts October 8th!

3. Pumpkin Spice Everything- This needs no explanation. Are you up for trying everything pumpkin spice?

4. American Horror Story returns!- Ok, so I'm not much of a TV watcher, and when I do it's mostly reality shows, but I'm absolutely in love with this show. In case you are not familiar, it's a pretty spooky shows that has a new story line every year. The themes so far have been about a haunted house, an insane asylum, a witch coven, and this season is going to be Freak Show! This isn't good news for me because I'm terrified of clowns...but yet I still need to watch. Haha! The new season starts October 8th on FX!

What are you excited for?

My Perfect Fall Night

Fall is here! Fall is here! And even thought I live in California where it is hot year round, I can still dream of my perfect Fall night. I am at my happiest when...

It is raining while I'm snuggled up at home...

While drinking a Salted Caramel Mocha from Starbucks...

As I'm watching a Christmas movie...hey it's never too early...

All while wearing my onesie!

Get Happy!

Recently I've been seeing many people post on Facebook and Instagram their 100 Days Of Happy posts. I absolutely love these little posts, because people are looking towards the positives is their lives, and not focused on the negatives. I think this is a way of thinking that we all would like to achieve, but in reality it is very hard. It's so much easier to think about the negatives in your life than be thankful for the positives...am I right? I spend many days worrying about things that don't need to be worried about. I stress myself out and don't notice all the positive things that happen to me on a daily basis. After seeing some of the posts people put for their 100 Days Of Happy, I realized that there are so many tiny little things in my day that make me happy that just get pushed to the wayside. Like my morning coffee, or having that perfect hair day. Here are some other very little things that make my day happy.

  1. Having exact change when paying in cash
  2. The fist bite of something when you're really hungry
  3. Getting and giving hugs
  4. When my make up doesn't crease after being out for a long time
  5. A text from your best friend
  6. Watching your favorite TV show
  7. Eating chocolate
  8. Feeling so fresh and so clean after brushing your teeth
  9. Starting a new book, or finishing a book
  10. Smiling at a random stranger
These are just 10 little things that make me happy throughout the day that I never think about. I challenge you to make a list every night of the things that made you happy that day. I assure you, you will feel much happier...And if Mr. Happy himself Pharrell in a huge hat doesn't make you happy then I don't know what will.

Think Happy!

The Best Joan Rivers Quotes

I'm still a bit in shock that Joan Rivers died. I wasn't a huge fan of hers, but I would watch her on fashion police and knew that she paved the way for many female comedians. After surfing the web I've found many quotes of hers that had me laughing. Here are some of my favorites...

Never be afraid to laugh at yourself, after all, you could be missing out on the joke of the century.

Thank god we're living in a country where the sky's the limit, the stores are open late, and you can shop in bed thanks to television.

People say money is not the key to happiness, but I always figured if you have enough money, you can have a key made

I have become my own version of an optimist. If I can't make it through one door, I'll go through another door—or I'll make a door.Something terrific will come no matter how dark the present.
Life is very tough. If you don't laugh, it's tough
I don't exercise. If God wanted me to bend over, he'd have put diamonds on the floor.

What are your favorite Joan Rivers quotes?
RIP Joan

5 Things To Do When You're Sick

Welp, I'm sick again. I guess it's one of the "perks" of being a preschool. I've spent my 3 day weekend laying around trying to get better with a nose that won't stop running (no matter how much a try to catch it. Bahaha). If you're sick too or just stuck in the house here are 5 things to do to pass the time.

1. Read a book- I've started to read #Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso and so far it's AMAZING. It's about how she started selling vintage clothing on Ebay and turned that business into NastyGal. I'm sure I'll post more about it when I'm finished reading it!

2. Watch Rom Coms- Make a big bowl of pop corn and pop in a  tear jerker. When Harry Met Sally is one of my favorite movies of all time.

3. Bust out your old video games- I played Spyro tonight and I forgot how much I love this game! I could easily spend hours playing this.

4. Do a puzzle- I'm a 24 year old who loves puzzles...don't judge.

5. Go online shopping! - I have a couple Amazon gift cards burning a hole in my pocket!

Crossing my fingers I get over this cold soon! Ok off to bed I go...
