An American Girl in London Pt. 2!

Here are some more pics from my amazing trip to jolly old London!

Our day started off with coffee of course! We found this cute little hole in the wall coffee spot. It was amazing!

In this cafe there was a cat named Bob. Bob is a girl. As a crazy cat lady I instantly fell in love with little Bob.

 As we walked from the cafe to the tube station we came across this awesome tunnel with graffiti all over it! It was such a neat little find. There were even artists spray painting as we were walking through! Later on I googled it and found that it's called Leake Street, a little spot that the famous graffiti artist Banksy set up for artists to do their work! So happy we found this little gem.

Then we went and visited the Queen! I tried calling for Prince Harry, but he didn't come out to marry me...

We also did some shopping and I stumbled across a Johnny Cupcakes store! This is one of my favorite brands, so you can only imagine my excitement! 

 Then we had more coffee...

Yup, they really do say it...

Next was Harrods. My mind was blown when walking into Harrods. It was a department store on crack. With over a million square feet of shopping space I didn't even know where to begin...so we began where any girl should begin...

SHOE HEAVEN! Yes, the top floor was called shoe heaven. I literally thought I died and went to heaven.

In the kids section in Harrods they had a Disney cafe. Look how stinking cute it is!

And I lived happily ever after in Harrods.

An American Girl in London Pt. 1

Hello Darlings!

So I'm very much missing London already! The accents, the food, the history, oh my! Here is a little picture post on what we did our first day in London!

Oh course, our day started with some coffee!

This is the house we stayed at. It was beautiful! It had the most amazing study, and shelves filled with books in every room. I would move in if I could! 

Our first morning in London we went to this amazing market called the Borough Market. We got to sample the most delicious cheese and meats I've ever had. Walking around this market with a coffee in hand was the most perfect Friday morning I've ever had. 

Then we made a trip over to the Tower Bridge. Fun Fact: this is NOT the London Bridge, it is the Tower Bridge. Big difference! 

We then took a boat ride over to the London Eye. It was such a great ride! We could see so many beautiful buildings in London! Here's what the inside of the capsule you ride in looks like.

 Hung out with Big Ben next. 

Then the beautiful Westminster Abby. I can't believe royalty gets married just behind those doors! 

Walking around the streets of London we came across this chalk board where you write your hopes and prayers. Such a cute idea! Of course I had to write LOVE...love is all you need. 

Then I finished the day out with a tacky American tourist phone booth picture...I couldn't help myself. 

London I miss you!!

Home Sweet Home!

I'm back! I can't believe my trip is over and I'm back home already. Those 2 weeks just flew by. It was eye opening to see how different the cultures are. I often forget that people actually live on the other side of the world. It makes you realize just how big the world is, and that amazing things are just a plane ride away. I have  major anxiety about flying so I never thought I would muster up the courage to get on a plane and fly across the world for 10 hours. I must say, the long plane ride was well worth it. As I stared up at Big Ben and awed over the Mona Lisa, I thought to myself how incredibly amazing it is that I'm witnessing these things in person that I've only ever seen in the movies. People dream of going to these places and here I am in the presence of such beauty. I am truly blessed to have gone on this trip.

There were so many things I loved about Europe. Here are just some of the things that made me fall in love with this country...

Everything was beautiful
There were so many times during this trip that I just stood in awe of the beauty right in front of me. Seeing the detail put into every building was breath taking. Even the McDonald's and Starbucks over in Europe were in beautifully sculpted buildings. The churches over there were the most breath taking of all. Every thought out detail of Notre Dame was so stunning, it was like nothing I've ever seen. The stained glass on the inside was so beautiful I could look at it forever.

People took their time...especially with food!
Everything seemed much more relaxed in Europe. I didn't feel the need to rush like I do in the states. My whole life is run by a clock, I have to be here at a certain time, I have to get there at this time...in Europe nobody seemed to be in a rush to get anywhere. I LOVED public transportation because trains would come every 2-5 minutes, so it wouldn't be a huge deal if you missed your train. Here in the states it takes much longer to get from point A to point B efficiently.

Also, people took their time eating which is huge to me. Meal times seemed to be a bonding experience with everyone at the table. I had time to savor every bite of my perfectly delicious meal. I'm a slow eater to begin with, so not feeling rushed to choke down my food was a change. The people who sat next to us would be in such a deep conversation with the person they were with that they often got a couple different plates of food, plus coffee and dessert afterward. As a foodie, I was in foodie heaven. And not once did a waiter bring us our check early or try to hustle us out. In most places you would go up to the counter and pay for your meal when you were ready. Here is a picture of a lunch we had one day in France. So yummy! Sitting in a cafe, eating amazing food, and seeing the Eiffel tower out the window is how I want to spend every day of my life.

The Style!

I was obsessed with how people dressed in Europe! Everyone seemed confident with them self and their style. We saw a lot of people dressed in all black everything from head to toe. It looked so chic! Another  trend I saw over there was huge scarves! I'm a scarf girl, so I was loving it! So many people had these blanked sized scarves around their necks which was totally perfect in the cold weather of Europe. I will for sure be rocking the all black look plus a huge warm scarf more often! 

Plus, it was Paris fashion week while I was there! While at The Louvre I saw girls carrying around programs from the Channel show and I wanted to cry! We also stood outside the Alexander McQueen show with all the paparazzi. At one point they all started running so I ran too, but it was a false alarm. AND it was kinda cool knowing that Zoolander 2 was being shot while I was there. Can't wait for that movie!

Europe, Here I Come!

In about 6 hours I will be on a plane to Europe! I can't believe the day is finally here!

I think I successfully packed 2 weeks worth of clothes into a carry on (crazy right? If  my outfits come out as I have planned in my head, I will post a "successful packing" blog post about it). 8 tops, 3 pairs of pants, all my bathroom stuff, and 2 pairs of shoes all in my carry on. I totally just high fived myself!

We will be flying into Sweden, and then flying to London, where we will take the "chunnel" to Paris. I can't wait to soak in the culture and eat all the yummy food! Not looking forward to the freezing temps...but hey I'm a spoiled Californian with this year round sunny weather. Snow? What's snow? Haha!

When I come back I will have tons of posts about what we did and where we went. I'll also try to do outfit posts so you can see my carry-on airplane style!

Lots of good stuff will be coming soon my darlings!

Oh! And I got my nails did today, have to show you guys how cute they are!

Eating My Way Through Disneyland!

Hmm, what do I love most about Disneyland? The rides? The characters? The shopping? I would have to say all of the above. But as a self proclaimed foodie, the yummy goodies there in the park are what I look forward to the most. There is so much to blog about at The Happiest Place on Earth, but I'm going to dedicate this post to all the delicious food there. Here's just a taste of some of my favorites! 

Well, the first night I got cotton candy wasted, and it was all down hill from there...

 The next morning we got Mickey shaped beignets covered in powered sugar and mint juleps! (non-alcoholic of course, they don't serve alcohol in Disneyland). Such a yummy sweet treat! 

 For dinner we went to the Blue Bayou, which is the restaurant inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. This has got to be my favorite place to eat in the whole park. The meat is always so tender, and the potatoes are to die for.  (The pictures don't do it justice) Plus, eating under the lanterns makes it all the more magical! 

 Disneyland's famous corn dogs, and ice cream, and pineapple Dole whip floats...oh my! Do I spy a hidden Mickey?

You can't go to Disneyland without eating one of these little beauties. And just in case you were wondering, yes, everything does taste better Mickey shaped. 

And last but not least...the lobster nachos at Cove Bar in California Adventure. My mouth waters just thinking about them! Since it opened, coming here is a must for every Disney trip. Delicious food and drinks, plus it is right out on the water by Paradise Pier. Amazing food and an amazing view, what more could you ask for?

Christmas Time in San Francisco

I'm convinced that San Francisco during the holidays is one of the most magical places ever. The streets are busy with the bustle of people shopping. Every store display and cable car is decorated ever so beautifully. And so many Christmas trees are perfectly trimmed. It's unlike anything I've ever seen. 

This past weekend I stayed a night at the absolutely beautiful Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. I totally felt like Eloise at The Plaza! (Side note, I must thank Groupon for this amazing hotel deal). It was such a fun little getaway, and totally put me in the Christmas Spirit! Here are a few snaps from my trip!
